So, what exactly is a 'Thinking Tuesday' for? Well, I intend to use this space for discussions, for sharing resources for language learners, and keeping my mind sharp over the summer. I'll review books, documentaries and more. Basically, its a space where my nerdy self can run wild and find kindred spirits.
The first book I will be reviewing(next week) is 'Tokyo Vice' by Jake Addelstein. I first read this as part of a paper for my graduate degree, and I find the examination of not only the Japanese criminal group yakuza interesting, but his take on society at large to be fascinating.
See you next week!
Lemur blogs about knitting, culinary experiments, trying to learn to do hair and makeup, and grad school while keeping it real and avoiding the 'twee' aesthetic. No pretty pictures or Photoshop here- we're keeping it real.

Makeup Mondays: A Makeup-festo
I like to joke that I missed the day in Middle School when all the girls were pulled out of class and taught how to apply and wear makeup. I imagine that the class covered everything: how to do your hair, how to make it perfectly straight but still have a lot of volume, how to shave your legs without cutting the hell out of your ankle. That overalls were bad, blue eye shadow was worse, and how to choose lipstick, foundation and concealer. This created a weird situation. They wore their pretty 'natural' makeup and their perfect eyeliner while I still held onto the old trend of body and facial glitter( Ooooh the early 2000's). I wore wire framed glasses, and generally fell into the rut of the late bloomer.
